abstract A perspective representation of the cavities of the Pantheon. The visualisation is not based on the digital model because the inner sections of the structure were not part of the survey. The dimensions are taken from Fine Licht 1968 (fig. 87) and were subsequently integrated into the model, as can be seen in the horizontal cross-sections in figures 89, 92 and 93, where you can inspect their position in relation to the interior and exterior walls. The hollow parts of the otherwise solid structure of the Pantheon can be accessed via the two staircases in the intermediate block (the blue-coloured structure in the visualisation). Various suggestions have been made regarding the function of these vaulted brickwork structures: they might have been intended to relieve the lower parts of the wall or they could have served as a method of inspecting the solid concrete walls or of dehydrating them during the building process
